Sobre Nós

Kalani is an educational nonprofit 501c(3) retreat center that celebrates Hawaii, nature, culture and wellness. Our volunteer programs offer the opportunity to experience life in a community, enjoy a variety of activities, and learn and grow while serving our guests. With over 100 volunteers and staff, as well as up to a hundred guests at any time, much help is needed to maintain and operate our facility.

We are located on 120 coastal acres on the southeast coast of Hawaii Island, also known as "The Big Island", and are bordered by tropical jungle and the Pacific Ocean. Nearby attractions include: black sand beach (clothing optional and frequented by dolphins), active volcano, tide pools for snorkeling and much more. You receive access to our daily Kalani Activities, including yoga, hula, and volleyball, three delicious buffet meals a day, and full use of facilities including pool, sauna and hot tubs.

Volunteers commit to one, two or three month period and assist 30 hours per week in an assigned department, allowing time for greater participation in ongoing educational activities. Each volunteer may opt to participate in some of our workshops during their stay.
