Ashland Schine's Theatre

Located in a thriving small city in northern Ohio, the Ashland Schine's Theatre is truly a phoenix from the ashes story. Once headed for the wrecking ball, the Theatre is in the process of being restored as a lynchpin of culture and entertainment in this rapidly growing community, thanks to a highly successful $4.1 million capital campaign. The Theatre will feature three screens and a total of 532 seats, but it will be more than movies shown in an old theatre built in 1942. This community-centric venue will offer a repertory of programs for people of all ages and tastes, including new independent films; themed movies series; Saturday morning children’s matinees; live performances from local and touring musicians and performers; birthday parties; corporate events; educational collaborations with high schools, colleges and universities; and will provide a gathering place for nonprofit and civic organizations. The Theatre’s robust program schedule will attract people from contiguous counties up to a 60-mile radius. The success of this project will result in the conversion of a derelict eyesore into a vibrant regional economic anchor, attracting local and regional visitors who will in turn support other establishments and thereby increasing the tax base. We anticipate holding a preview for donors and supporters in December 2022.
