Sobre Nós

Mission: The mission of the Ohio Hispanic Coalition is to improve the well-being and quality of life for all Hispanics/Latinos through advocacy, education, training, and access to quality services.

The Ohio Hispanic Coalition (OHCO) is a private, non-profit Hispanic/Latino organization. OHCO was established in 1990 and in November 1996, the Internal Revenue Service awarded the Coalition a non-profit status under the Federal 501(c) 3 guideline. Today, OHCO stands as one of the leading Hispanic/Latino operated community-based organizations in Central Ohio. OHCO will celebrate its 24 year anniversary of providing quality services to the Hispanic/Latino community of central Ohio this year. The Board of Trustees of the Coalition is made up of 100% Hispanic/Latino community members. OHCO has 3 full-time, 31 full time contractors, 8 part-time contactors, 4 AmeriCorps members, and 68 contracted interpreters. With the help of over 90 volunteers, OHCO is able to offer a wide range of services free of charge to the Hispanic/Latino community it serves. The Coalition is committed to providing services that help transition the underserved, disadvantaged Hispanic/Latino population to safe, healthy, and independent living. In an effort to accomplish these objectives OHCO believes that it must be a vital resource to the community by providing: 1) Direct services, 2) Referrals to appropriate social service agencies, 3) Necessary work skills training, 4) Linguistically and culturally appropriate health care and safety information to families and 5) Facilitating navigation of governmental and institution processes.
