Heroes To Heroes Foundation

Heroes to Heroes provides spiritual healing and peer support for combat veterans of all faiths who have attempted suicide or are on a path to self-destruction due to moral injury.

Many veterans are given a diagnosis of PTSD. After trying many tools to relieve that PTSD, some seem to find no help. That help may be elusive due to another factor, moral injury. Moral injury, the damage done to one's conscience or moral compass when that person perpetrates, witnesses, or fails to prevent acts that transgress one's own moral beliefs, values, or ethical codes of conduct. The result is tremendous guilt. Few organizations and therapists have an answer to relieving that guilt. Heroes to Heroes helps our veterans find that relief.

Using a team approach, Heroes to Heroes curriculum-based program takes veterans from suicidal ideation to community reintegration. Participants explore values, conflict resolution, spirituality, and build a life plan during this one-year program that is both online and in person.

Teams travel together to Israel, where they explore their faith where it all began. The ten days in Israel is one of the most powerful tools to find forgiveness and peace. Each veteran takes their own faith journey with the support of their team.

Over 350 veterans have taken the Heroes to Heroes journey in the past 13 years. Independent long-term research has shown Heroes to Heroes to be the most effective journey for resolving the social and spiritual determinents of moral injury.
