Equity Statement

We understand climate change is a highly complex issue and that just and equitable solution cannot be found if we proceed with the climate science and policy lens alone. We must take a comprehensive perspective of climate change impacts and tree planting solution if we are to reach our goal and create the future we want to live in. We are committed to addressing the intersection of climate change, economic, social and racial disparities by working closely with partners who understands this interface.

Why Greenway

Climate change is defining our generation; everyone alive today. This generation represents the first to indeed experience the effects of climate change and will exercise the most profound influence on how it is addressed. At Greenway, we typically adopt tree planting, climate, and energy literacy as a possible solution to the environmental crisis we typically face in the world today.

Our Theory of Change

Communities collectively hold the power to innovate and demand climate change solutions. Empowering individuals in their communities to make long-term, lasting change requires building climate literacy, understanding personal connections to climate change, and developing powerful advocates through a model of partnership. By engaging educators, youth, and the public, we believe communities can be better positioned to build a resilient and equitable future.

Our Core Beliefs

Greenway believes climate change resolutions will be accelerated by individuals and communities by undertaking collective action toward solutions, which include conservation, mitigation, adaptation, policy, and innovation.

We universally recognize local youth will typically inherit the unparalleled impacts of climate change and are undoubtedly among our most powerful advocates.

We believe education remains a tool of empowerment, and empowering educators as critical messengers of climate literacy constitute part of the solution to climate change.

We believe tree planting, climate, and energy literacy remain the key to achieving our established goals. To prevent severe and potentially catastrophic impacts from climate change, intermediate steps to plant more trees are necessary, lower emission transition fuels and technologies should be prioritized to obtain respiratory and heart health benefits;women and children are disproportionately affected by household air pollution.
