The Medical, Eye & Dental International Care Organization, Inc.

MEDICO is a nonprofit humanitarian aid organization that provides medical, dental and optometric services in remote areas of Central America, mainly Honduras. Teams of 15-20 serve for one week at a time. Volunteers come from across the U.S. and several foreign countries, each paying their own way to serve on a team. In addition to airfare, a volunteer pays a trip fee that includes in-country expenses such as hotel accommodations, transportation, food, airport taxes, travel insurance, etc. MEDICO was establshed in August of 1990 and its over 1800 team members have served over 140,000 people in need. Trips can be a life-changing experience for a volunteer.
