PROJECT ELDERLY CONNECT

  • Missão

Project Elderly Connect is a nonprofit organization working towards providing elderly immigrants with a chance to experience their normal. We internationally connect elderly immigrants in the US with youth volunteers all over the world who are native and fluent in the languages and live in the countries the elderly have immigrated from, through our programs and volunteer teams. Through social media representation, global events, PEC is advocating to connect and bridge our generations together. Our team is devoted to this mission, as we all make a promise to one another to support as many people as we can.

    Sobre Nós

PEC currently is looking for many volunteers, and has partnerships with the UofM hospital and numerous residential homes. We currently operate under four different prongs:

    1. This prong connects the elderly who have immigrated to the US with youth from all over the world, to connect to their "home"! From this, both generations can learn more about the cultural diversity, target the elderly loneliness sector, and further connect these generations together.

    2. Connectivity! in this we connect youth volunteers with elderly to help them with their technological problems. We also create coursework and publish books to spread out across hospitals and residential homes.

    3. Phoning system! In this prong, we connect PEC with different residential homes to target the elderly loneliness factors. From speaking with the elderly through their room numbers, we can obtain words of wisdom, and create meaningful connections to bridge our generations.

    4. Fundraising!
