ENCOMPASS New Opera Theatre was founded in 1976 by director Nancy Rhodes and producer Roger Cunningham with the mission to create, develop and produce adventurous productions of new music theatre and contemporary opera.

ENCOMPASS also revives important American operas and develops emerging composers, librettists, singers and musicians. Our community engagement/outreach program - PARADIGM SHIFTS Music and Film Festival - celebrates courageous people preserving our planet, oceans, wildlife and sacred lands, by bridging indigenous culturs, women's wisdome and the social justice/environmental movements.
