The Mountain Area Preservation (MAP) is a grassroots environmental non-profit established by concerned residents of the Truckee Tahoe region. Since our inception in 1987, the organization has worked to preserve, protect and enhance the region’s natural environment. MAP serves as a local advocate for smart-growth principles, and seeks to ensure that new development is environmentally sensitive.
