Capital Area Partnership Uplifting People, Inc.(CAPUP) is a private non-profit agency that was established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to combat problems associated with poverty in the Richmond Metropolitian area.
CAPUP formerly Richmond Community Action Program (RCAP), changed its name to show coverage for areas outside of Richmond, VA
A community action agency, CAPUP is the offical sites for the cities of Richmond, Petersburg, Hopewell and counties of Dinwiddie and Prince George.
MISSION: CAPUP strengthens communities by providing resources for people to help themselves.
