  • Missão

The mission of CASA is to speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courts. We promote and support quality volunteer representation for children to provide each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home.

    Sobre Nós

Alaska CASA supports and promotes local CASA programs throughout the state. Currently, there are local programs in Anchorage, Bethel, Fairbanks, Juneau, Kenai, and Palmer.

You do not have to be a lawyer or a social worker to be a CASA volunteer. We welcome people from all walks of life. We are looking for people who care about children and have common sense. You will be thoroughly trained and well supported by professional staff to help you through each case.

CASA volunteers get to know the child by talking to everyone involved in that child's life: parents, relatives, foster parents, teachers, medical professionals, attorneys, social workers and others. They use the information to inform judges and others of what the child needs and what will be the best plan for them.

To be a CASA volunteer you must complete a free 30+ hour training course, agree to stay with a case until it's closed, pass a background check, and be sworn into service by a judge.

To get started, visit our website to find a program near you, sign up for our e-newsletter, and find us on Facebook. We look forward to hearing from you!
