Indo-Global Social Service

The Indo- German Social Service Society is a non-profit organisation working with the mandate for a humane social order based on truth, justice, freedom and equity. Registered on 9th May, 1961, under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 and renamed as Indo - Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) on 18th August, 2004.
Through the years, IGSSS has evolved as a major player in the development sector in India. Currently it has presence in 17 states of India and works on the theme of “Empowerment” with thematic focus on Promoting Sustainable Livelihood, Energizing the Youth as Change Makers, Protecting lives, livelihood and assets (including natural) from the impact of hazards, Advocating for the rights of City Makers (Urban Homeless) and Developing Cadre of leaders from the community as well as civil society organizations. Gender is taken as a cross-cutting among all other themes by IGSSS. In addition, Medical Aid for poor and Scholarship for students from economically weaker sections of society are other support programme of IGSSS.
Through its endeavor, IGSSS want to ensure social, economic, political empowerment of poor and marginalized communities so that they can have access to sustainable livelihood with Dignity. For effective operation of programmes IGSSS has established the Head Office at New Delhi and operating from 3 zonal offices – Zonal Office East (Kolkata), Zonal Office West (Baroda) and Zonal Office Northeast (Assam) and within the purview of these administrative units, 8 project offices are functioning.
