Opportunity Works Connecticut, Inc. (OWC) is a non-profit agency that supports people with intellectual and physical disabilities in Eastern Connecticut. We are committed to providing the best individualized supports to assist everyone to find meaningful vocational activities and/or gainful employment opportunities that fit with their personal goals.

Opportunity Works Connecticut, Inc. (OWC) is a nonprofit organization based in Rockville, CT, dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and physical disabilities across Central and Eastern Connecticut. Since its founding over 15 years ago, OWC has remained committed to person-centered, compassionate care that empowers individuals to live, work, and thrive in their communities. We also have a horticulture program in Killingly, CT as well as one of two florist in Putnam, CT.
OWC supports adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, including:
Individuals seeking employment or vocational training
Adults in need of day services or community engagement
Seniors with disabilities looking for enriching, low-stress activities
OWC offers a wide range of customized programs designed to meet the diverse needs of the individuals we serve:
Day Service Option (DSO): Group-based programming focused on social skills, arts, music therapy, sensory integration, and vocational modules.
Opportunity for Older Adults (OOA): Leisure-based, slower-paced programming for seniors, including crafts, games, virtual field trips, and seated exercise.
Group Supported Employment (GSE): Employment through OWC-run businesses in production, cleaning, and creative arts.
Individualized Day Vocational (IDV): One-on-one career planning, resume building, interview prep, and job coaching.
Supported Employment Individualized (SEI): On-the-job support with the goal of fostering independence.
Transitional Services: Educational and vocational training for individuals preparing to enter the workforce.
OWC also operates several in-house businesses that provide employment and skill-building opportunities:
Designing Department: Handmade greeting cards, jewelry, and home décor.
Woodshop: Custom furniture, birdhouses, and games made from recycled materials.
Material Handlers: Bottle redemption, shredding, donation pickup, and more.
Floral & Gifts of OWC in Putnam, Ct: Fully functioning florist.
Floral & Gifts of OWC Too in Rockville, CT: Fully functioning florist.
2nd Hand Treasures in Vernon, CT: Gently used and cherished clothing, kitchen hardware's, ETC.
