Sobre Nós

Bethany demonstrates the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by protecting children, empowering youth, and strengthening families through quality social services. One of the programs Bethany offers to deliver these services is our Refugee and Immigrant Foster Care Programs.

Every day, over 40,000 families around the world are forced to flee their homes due to community violence, war, famine, natural disasters, and persecution. Along the way, refugee families are sometimes separated due to death, illness, or imprisonment. When family reunification is not possible, children are considered unaccompanied minors. For these children, the best option is to be cared for by a foster care family.

As a refugee foster parent, you can provide a safe and supportive place for a teen to heal from past trauma. In a family setting, you can help a teen meet their physical needs, pursue an education, develop their English skills, get connected in the community, and prepare for future independence. Refugee foster families come from a variety of backgrounds and include families with small children, families whose kids are grown, and both one- and two-parent families. You can show love and compassion to teens who are afraid, alone, and yearning for safety as they begin a new life in the U.S.
