    Sobre Nós

The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Pittsburgh (HFLA) provides interest-free loans to help individuals and families achieve financial stability and pursue opportunities regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender expression, disability, past incarceration, or immigration status. HFLA is based on the Jewish belief not to charge interest to someone in need and has served the Jewish and non-Jewish communities in Allegheny County for more than 138 years. Many people may need access to a loan and don't qualify for other traditional lenders or don't want to incur exorbitant interest, and HFLA has been here quietly growing through word of mouth to provide assistance and empower people.

HFLA is one of the original microlenders in the country, currently making loans up to $10,000 to people who live in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Washington, Westmoreland and Armstrong counties in Southwestern PA, have a source of income that shows they can repay a loan, and have a concrete need that a loan will help to pay. Depending on the amount of the loan needed and the applicant credit scores and income, cosigners or guarantors may be needed, but as long as the applicant make less than twice the area median income, they may qualify for a loan that will not cost incur any fees.

HFLA makes loans for a wide variety of reasons, including home repair, vehicle purchase or repair, adoption/fertility expenses, credit card consolidation, health & wellness expenses, tuition, small business expenses, wedding or funeral or b-mitzvah expenses, and other things too! We do not make loans to help with rent, monthly bills, utilities, to repay existing loans, for cash flow, for luxury items like jewelry or vacations, etc.

HFLA is proud to serve anyone who qualifies, values the dignity of every person, respects confidentiality, and denounces antisemitism, hate, and discrimination of any kind.
