The mission of the Society of State Directors of Health, Physical Education and Recreation is to provide leadership in facilitating and promoting initiatives to achieve health and education goals and objectives. The Society promotes effective school programs and practices that involve collaboration with parents and community groups to positively impact a healthy and active lifestyle. The Society maintains a network for professional development and a forum for sharing knowledge, ideas, and strategies for implementing quality programs at the national, state, and local levels.
