Memorial Hermann Hospice

At Memorial Hermann Hospice, we help individuals facing life limiting illnesses live each day to the fullest, without pain and in the company of people who care. We provide exceptional patient care experiences, evidenced-based symptom management and spiritual/emotional support. We enable patients and their loved ones to live with hope as they learn to cope with loss and prepare for the end of life. Our hospice volunteers work with our staff. Some volunteers spend time with patients and their loved ones. They provide caregiver relief, companionship, run errands and provide supportive services. Other volunteers may prefer to work in an administrative capacity. Volunteers work in every area of our program. Volunteers can help by assisting with activities and games, and by reading books and magazines aloud for patients and families. Volunteers visit patients, listen to them and their loved ones, and share memories and feelings. They also help patients maintain a sense of dignity and self-respect.
