Serving the approximately 50,000 Jews in the Houston
metropolitan area, the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston’s mission is to
lead and mobilize the community to care for and enrich lives in Jewish
communities locally, nationally, in Israel, and around the world. The mission is geared primarily, but not
exclusively, to Jewish causes. Since its
inception in 1936, the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston has raised more
than $100 million through its Annual Campaigns. The Annual Campaign raised more
than $14 million last year, benefitting a multitude of local, national and
global partners, from Jewish day schools and camps to immigration assistance;
from aid for Israel to aid for Jews in need locally and worldwide. Other programming includes sponsorship of
mission trips to Israel, women’s philanthropy, young adult networking programs
and comprehensive Jewish education.
