  • Sobre Nós

Founded in 2007, Re:Vision develops local solutions to the global issues of climate change, environmental degradation and poverty/income inequality.

Since 2009, Re:Vision has developed a model of resident-led community initiatives that address poverty and food access. The philosophy is that food and resources are grown in the community, by the community, and for the community, which leads to food security, food access, and a healthier quality of life.

To accomplish this, Re:Vision has three main strategies:

    • Establish Community Food Systems through the Re:farm Denver Program: neighborhood food production through backyard gardens and urban farms, and food distribution models that increase access to healthy food for all residents.
    • Resident Empowerment through the promotora program: training and supporting residents to become leaders in their community, and employing residents as community health workers, called promotoras.
    • Economic Development through the community owned food co-op program: growing a local food economy that creates good paying jobs and builds community wealth through cooperative business models.
