Heart disease and stroke take more lives than the next four causes of death combined and cost the US $316 billion a year in healthcare services and medications. But heart disease is not a number…it is our parents, husbands, wives and children. People who need someone to fight for them and educate them on the ways to reduce the risk of heart disease. The Hope Heart Institute is that gladiator…committed to standing alongside our community to beat heart disease!
We gather our inspiration from our founder Dr. Sauvage, who was more than a premier cardiac surgeon and pioneer of bypass surgery. For him, fighting heart disease was all about the people. He would pick patients up at the airport and sit bedside feeding them jello. His compassionate approach to heart disease is the foundation of Hope Heart.
