Bukavu Youth Action Center

Bukavu Youth Action Center is located in Bukavu, South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo, an area that has been unstable for two decades. In order to inspire the youth to become the changemakers that this society needs for a better future, BYAC is committed to promoting youth leadership through the arts and other forms of communication.

BYAC has three programs: Seeds of Hope, which focuses on arts and leadership for children; Arts for Transformation, which promotes artistic development and using the arts to positively impact the community; and Youth for Change, which reaches out to youth through our newly launched youth magazine, leadership trainings and other activites. Other BYAC activities include: dance, painting/sculpting, music, and English classes; organizing youth arts competitions, shows, and festivals; arts clubs; conferences and trainings for youth, and more.

We are always happy to recieve volunteers, especially French-speaking artists, who are passionate about youth leadership as a long-term investment in Congo's development. Please check out our website bukavuyouth.org for more information.
