Playworks Southern California

The Playworks Mission: To improve the health and well-being of children by increasing opportunities for physical activity and safe, meaningful play.

Playworks is the only nonprofit organization in the country to send trained, full-time program coordinators, known as "coaches", to schools in underserved communities where they enhance and transform recess and play into a positive experience that helps kids and teachers get the most out of every learning opportunity throughout the school day.

Playworks Southern California (formerly Playworks Los Angeles) launched in 2009-2010 school year. This school year 2011-2012, we are serving 7,500 children in 21 schools across Los AngelesCounty.
