ALDEA: Advancing Local Development through Empowerment and Action

ALDEA is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to partner with the Asociación BPD (ABPD) in Guatemala to improve the health and well-being of Mayan families in rural Guatemala through lasting, community-driven solutions. By mobilizing Mayan communities in the Department of Chimaltenango to address the high rate of chronic childhood malnutrition, they will acquire the skills necessary to move forward with their own development processes in the future to address other self-identified needs. This organization has a 50-year history of working in partnership with rural Mayans in Guatemala.
