The Center for Culture, Immigration, and Violence Prevention Center, is a partnership between the Institute for the Study of Social Change at the University of California at Berkeley, the National Council on Crime and Delinquency, the University of California at San Francisco, and researchers from various local institutions, community organizations, and state, local, and federal agencies. The goal of the Center is to reduce youth violence, particularly among the Asian, Pacific Islander, and Latino immigrant populations in Oakland, California. The Center aims to achieve this goal by convening community members, policy makers, and researchers to identify community priorities regarding violence. The Center also aims to conduct innovative research, and translate this information into health and community practice.
