Mission Statement

Afterschool Village partners with parents and schools to raise children who can master an increasingly challenging world: emotionally resilient, intellectually independent, courageous and loving.

Afterschool village is here to create a third space that bridges the gap between home and school so children grow to be both individual makers of meaning and active participants in their communities and the world.

About Us

Afterschool Village is a Studio City based non-profit organization primarily focused on creating a local, community space where parents can partner with each other, educators and psychologists to raise healthy children.

At Afterschool Village

--we take “green” ecological thinking and apply it to the growing human person.

We offer activities that target how children deal with stress, their ability to cooperate with peers, and their ability to sustain hope and commitment through long-term projects.

--we teach them to be an integral part of their communities, reaching out to other community groups, businesses, professionals, and political institutions.

The neighborhood is our learning environment!

If community is one of the axes Afterschool Village is built upon, sustainable living is another.

At Afterschool Village kids become “ambassadors of the future.” That means they learn about sustainable practices and implement them in their family, their community and the world.
