Project Focus is grounded in passion and love. Last year, a pink teddy bear stood in the streets of downtown Chicago embracing thousands of upstanders with free hugs for Uganda. Besides him, a wooden placard read "5 strangers, one passion, Chicago to Uganda." Today, Project FOCUS is a diverse, youth-led initiative of artists, writers, activists and students. We are committed group of individuals bound by a common purpose to educate, inspire and empower. We are compelled by idealism, the power of youth and artistic expression. Our first project, the FOCUS Exhibit was developed to recognize and celebrate the stories of 16 Ugandan youth. We hope to inspire compassion in our community--so forget the guilt trips, it's time to think positive!
