Great Bridge Battlefield & Waterways History Foundation

The Great Bridge Battlefield Historic Park and Visitor Center will continue to serve to preserve, promote, and present to the nation the historic, educational, and economic significance of The Battle of Great Bridge, the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal, and the Dismal Swamp Canal. The Foundation’s education mission is being fulfilled by partnering with area schools, universities, museums, and the Virginia Board of Education. Every fifth grade child in Virginia now learns about the significance of the battle to American independence.
