Sustainable Laos Education Initiatives

Sustainable Laos Education Initiatives Inc. (SLEI) is a non-profit organization which runs the Sai Nyai Eco-School, a community education project located in Kengkia village, in rural Bachiengchaleurnsouk District, Champasak Province, Lao PDR. Since 2008, SLEI has conducted educational programs for adults, children and youth focusing on helping economically disadvantaged rural communities meet their vital needs in ecologically and socially sustainable ways. The majority of activities are held at the school or in nearby villages. Workshops and programs typically combine sustainable agriculture, green business, community leadership, environmental and social studies, organizational governance, land law, health, and appropriate technology into a unique curriculum. The workshops, trainings and attendants vary depending on the trainers we partner with.
