Habitat for Humanity homes are built or renovated using volunteer labor and as much donated material as possible. Each home is sold to a partner family at no profit and with a no interest mortgage paid over a 20 to 30 year period. The family's house payments are used to help build more homes in Itasca County. Partner families also contribute sweat equity by participating in the construction of their or another family's home. Habitat for Humanity's work is based in Christian teachings, but the organization welcomes people of all beliefs.
