Appalachian Mountain Project Access

AMPA seeks Meaningful Access to Healthcare Services. We offer 2 Programs: Specialty Care Coordination and Health Insurance Marketplace Navigation. SCC utilizes a network of charitable medical providers who agree to donate their care to patients deemed eligible by our comprehensive financial screening process. Patients must not have access to affordable health insurance, must have an important medical need, and have household income which does not exceed 225% of the Federal Poverty Level. This program serves 21 counties in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. HIM involves outreach, education, and one-on-one assistance for application and enrollment in private health insurance plans available on the Health Insurance Marketplace through www.healthcare.gov. HIM also provides information regarding the Affordable Care Act and general health insurance basics. This program is offered to the residents of 12 East TN Counties: Carter, Cocke, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, Washington Counties, TN.
