Sobre Nós

Our team includes dedicated parents, who have each individually adapted to living with Autism in its various forms. The MAIN team has the skills, experience and motivation to offer first hand support and advice to people of all ages living with Autism.

This support and advice takes shape in a wide variety of forms. Parents with newly diagnosed children are welcome to approach MAIN. Our team will understand if you have a negative state of mind and you feel like you don’t know where to go or what to do next.

MAIN can bring about a positive change in attitudes by introducing families to others in similar situations and by advising on the best possible way forward to ensure their child has the most fulfilling of lives ahead of them.

Ultimately MAIN is about empowering individuals and families living with Autism. Everything we do is delivered in a fun and friendly manner, focusing “not on what MAIN can do for you, but what MAIN can help you do for yourself”. MAIN is driven by the collective experiences and knowledge of those within the organisation. We’ve been there, done that and got the T-shirt, not just bought the text book!

MAIN’s over-riding drive to encourage a positive outlook to living with Autism is backed up by social groups, workshops, and signposting what is available in order to support families and individuals as they move forward in their lives.

Each individual person or family that MAIN works with is treated exactly as that, an individual. No two people with Autism are the same, so our team makes sure that the support we provide is personally tailored to the needs of individuals, with the ultimate goal of empowering them and their families.

MAIN has 3 clear objectives:

  1. To raise awareness of Autism and Asperger Syndrome within society. Educating and promoting the needs of those living with Autism and ensuring they are at the forefront of what we do.
  2. To promote and advance the positive interactions of those living with Autism, encouraging adaptability and support in those around them.
  3. To provide the tools needed in order to enrich the lives of those living with Autism in a creative and knowledgeable way. Understanding, interpreting their needs and advising on the forms of support they would benefit from.
