About 511NY Rideshare

511NY Rideshare, a program sponsored by the New York State Department of Transportation, is New York’s home for ridematching, commuter and traveler services. We offer commuters, travelers and employers free resources for ridematching and alternative transportation options that save people time and money while improving air quality in the downstate New York region. Our goal is to improve mobility, reduce traffic, manage congestion and reduce carbon footprints by offering a suite of programs and services.

The programs and services we provide include ridematching for carpools and vanpools, employer commuter benefits services, and resources and information for transit, bicycling, walking, teleworking, and compressed work weeks. The 511NY Rideshare outreach teams attend and participate in events around Long Island to connect with various commuters, travelers and employers that could benefit from our free service.
