    Sobre Nós

BEAM operates using a 'Sankofa Village' model, bringing together a collective of Black educational service providers and professionals from both public and private sectors. This intergenerational network is committed to reaching back to help youth by challenging the persistent disregard of Black students' hopes, dreams, and achievements in educational settings. Through culturally responsive curricula, leadership development, and community-based programming, BEAM aims to counter the low achievement, hopelessness, and lack of opportunity that many Black students face in public and private schools.

Signature programs include the annual Black Student Success Summit (BSSS), which offers workshops on academic success, college preparation, career exploration, and life skills, all designed for Black and Multiracial high school and college students. These workshops are conducted by local Black professionals who share the lived experiences of the students, providing invaluable mentorship and a sense of belonging.

Through these initiatives, BEAM strives to enhance students' social capital, empowering them to be unlimited in their choice of educational and career opportunities.
