  • Missão

Working Women's History Project preserves and promotes the stories of historical and living Chicago women who have mad contributons toward achieving justice and equality in the areas of labor, women's , human and civil rights.

    Sobre Nós

Our organization began in 1995 as Women and Labor History Project, which was started to research and publicize the stories of Chicago women who had been active in the labor movement. When incorporating as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2003, the group changed its name to Working Women's History Project, and we now tell stories about women beyond the labor movement to include those working for social justice in other areas. We stage performance pieces about historical and living women who worked, or are still working toward social justice in the workplace and other arenas. These presentations are followed by panelists who discuss current issues related to the pieces. We also publish a newsletter 10 times per year, in which we write about contemporary women and issues related to women's rights and equality. We seek a volunteer intern who can contribute articles to it, and also one who can help us with social media.
