Indus Development Society

Founded in April 2007, Indus Development Society is a registered charity under the Pakistan Societies’ Act 1860 and a private company limited by guarantee. With the aim of strengthening communities, growing communities and tackling disadvantage across Pakistan, a team of professional staff provides technical advice, practical support and grant aid to promote local initiatives. IDS also manage countywide programs bringing benefits to local people, informing and influencing policy makers in the development of rural policies and practices. IDS aims the services in the field of education, health, environment, agriculture, livestock and rural development through participatory approach.

Membership of the Charity is comprised of supporting groups and individuals drawn from local communities, and statutory bodies. IDS is a part of the rural and sub-urban community, which operates countrywide uniformly, supporting the work of the voluntary sector in rural communities and market towns. Governance of Indus Development Society is through a Board of Trustees appointed for their skills and expertise in a range of relevant disciplines to ensure robust oversight of the charity. The Board has final legal authority and is responsible for overseeing the operation of the entire charity and its activities.

Mission Indus Development Society’s mission is to create, strengthen and hold up networks of people and society promoting alteration towards sustainable advancement.
