L.A.C.E.R. Afterschool Programs (Literacy, Arts, Culture, Education, Recreation)

L.A.C.E.R. is an Arts and Literacy-based after school program providing youth a variety of free enrichment opportunities and activities after school. Among the workshops and classes offered are: all of the Visual and Performing Arts, Music, various Literacy and Reading programs, Recreation, a Math program, Homework help and Field Trips throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

L.A.C.E.R. serves over 4,000 students per year in classes taught by professional actors, dancers, visual artists, musicians and other professionals who share their talents with our students toward the following goals:

•To provide a safe haven for students; an after school alternative to being home alone behind locked doors.

•To reduce violence in our communities.

•To teach students to respect themselves, their peers, their elders, their schools and their community.

•To provide homework assistance and literacy programming daily and college and career prep. 

•To provide new experiences, especially in the arts, with the various workshops and classes as well as through field trips.

•To provide caring adults as role models and mentors to demonstrate that adults do care about young people.
