Friends of Cambridge Rindge and Latin School

Friends of Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (FOCRLS) is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit association, sustained by the efforts of a network of parents, alumni, and members of the community. FOCRLS was founded by CRLS parents Elaine Schear and Donna Spiegelman in December 2006, with the mission to develop, support, and enrich the academic and social development programs at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and to support the alumni of CRLS and its predecessor schools. In so doing, FOCRLS promotes achievement and a greater community investment in the future of CRLS, its current students, and its graduates.

Our Programs:

College Scholarships to assist CRLS seniors who have diverse talents, interests, and aspirations, as well as the determination to overcome financial obstacles, in pursuing their educational and professional goals

Faculty Innovation Grants to fund projects created by CRLS teachers, club advisors, counselors, deans, and librarians to energize learning, build community, and support social development

Student Travel Fellowships to enable academically and financially eligible students to participate in educational, cultural, and community service trips, both domestic and international

Unsung Heroes Awards to recognize students selected by deans and counselors for exemplifying leadership, character, inspiration, peer support, and progress

Faculty Distinction Awards to honor teachers and staff members nominated by graduating classes as having the most positive influences on their years at CRLS
