Southern California Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health

The Southern California Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health (SoCalCOSH) is a 25+ year old; Los Angeles based grassroots coalition of health and safety activists, union and non-union workers, legal professionals, students and academic researchers dedicated to eliminating hazardous working conditions and promoting healthier working environments. We provide some of the most vulnerable workers in Los Angeles with tools to create, for themselves, a safer and healthier workplace. SoCalCOSH seeks to provide an avenue for diverse groups and individuals to join efforts in providing worker health and safety education-focusing on low-wage and vulnerable populations-as well as advocacy for prevention of hazards on the job, workers’ rights at work, and healthy and safe workplaces for all. We develop and facilitate educational/training curriculum and materials, advocate for effective enforcement of existing health and safety laws and fight for new protections for workers, as well as provide technical assistance and referrals. SoCalCOSH reaches about 1,500 workers per year through direct worker training and advocacy.

SoCalCOSH is member of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (National COSH), a federation of 21 local and statewide COSH groups.
