Our mission is to do the work of Jesus Christ, providing hope, respect, and guidance towards a path to prosperity.
Incorporated in April of 1951, Friendship House is a faith-based non-profit organization reaching out to all those in need. The core partnership of this inner city ministry includes American Baptist, United Methodist Church, Disciples of Christ, the Presbytery of Peoria and the Congregational Christian Conference. Today, Friendship House is located at 800 North East Madison Peoria, IL, and continues to offer programs to the community and minister to those individuals and families who need it most. Friendship House serves approximately 10,000 individuals per year. 80% of our service area consists of individuals caring for families with an average annual income below $13,000. The Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service is funded by churches, the Heart of Illinois United Way, individuals, grants/foundations, community support, and fundraisers.
