FRIENDS OF BLUE GRASS MEMORIAL CEMETERY

The Friends of the Blue Grass Memorial Cemeteries are dedicated to meticulously reclaiming and safeguarding the historic, segregated Blue Grass Memorial and Speedwell Cemeteries, rectifying decades of neglect to make accessible the final resting places of 1,800 individuals, fostering community engagement, and ensuring these sacred grounds serve as a lasting testament to Madison County's complete and diverse heritage.

Friends of the Bluegrass Memorial Cemeteries is a volunteer-led nonprofit dedicated to supporting and enhancing two of our community’s historic cemeteries. We're looking for committed and passionate individuals to join our small, hands-on group. This is an ideal role for anyone who cares deeply about local history, preservation, and making a lasting impact in Richmond. There are several volunteer opportunities including board participation, landscaping, research and preservation.
