University District Children's Center

Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment that values diversity and builds community by honoring and respecting all children and families. We serve children ages 1-5 years old in a play based learning environment. We create a stable foundation for children to help them foster relationships, develop a positive sense of self, and grow a love of learning. Adults practice being child centered reflective practitioners- by observing and making meaning of the children's play we are able to plan and further build on children's play to provoke meaningful explorations.Each child deserves a space to explore, engage,discover, and wonder. To ensure children are  confident, socially competent, and emotionally capable of navigating their world,we provide opportunities where children can safely practice collaboration, problem solving, listening to others, and resolving conflicts.
