Weatherhead East Asian Institute

Established in 1949, the Weatherhead East Asian Institute is an interdisciplinary center at Columbia University for research, publishing, and public programs on the countries, peoples, and cultures of East and Southeast Asia. Through its research activities, conferences, and seminars, the Institute creates an international forum on social, economic, political, and security issues facing East Asia.
