Gomez Mill House Foundation

Sobre Nós

Gomez Mill House (GMH) is the oldest Jewish American heritage site in North America and is chartered as a non-profit educational corporation by the University of the State of New York. Located in Marlboro, NY on the west side of the historic Hudson River Valley, Gomez Mill House has a fascinating history that includes its Jewish colonial founders, Revolutionary era patriots, 19th century merchants, and 20th century activists and educators. The property includes the main building, originally a trading post built by Luis Moses Gomez in the early 1700s, and a paper mill, built in the early 1900s by famed paper-maker and type designer, Dard Hunter. The foundation pursues a three-fold mission to: 1) preserve the historic site and historical artifacts; 2) educate, entertain, and inspire the public through storytelling; 3) bring history forward and connect today's change-makers with the legacy of GMH pioneers.
