Illinois Institute for Community Law & Affairs

The Institute's primary purpose is to advocate for reform of our antiquated, dysfunctional and ineffective corrections (prisons) system, especially in Illinois. The Institute studies issues related to corrections, identifies critical problems, studies possible solutions, drawing upon the advice and participation of prisoners, former prisoners, specialists in the area and other professionals and academics; and then advocates for the adoption of policies that have promise.
