Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Inc.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) is a non-profit organization based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn that seeks to empower low and moderate income Brooklyn residents to secure quality housing and build assets. NHN provides services to tenants, potential first-time homebuyers, and homeowners.

Our homeownership workshops, counseling, and mortgage packaging services help people purchase their first home. Our services for homeowners include helping them repair and improve their homes without destabilizing their finances, and helping to resolve mortgage delinquencies and stay in their homes where possible.

Our tenant counseling services help low-income tenants know their rights, negotiate a lease or agreement, achieve due process in eviction cases, and get repairs made.

Through our tenant organizing program, we help tenants use collective action to achieve immediate goals in improving their housing conditions, and longer term goals in terms of affordable housing policy.

Our services focus on Brooklyn, neighborhoods and the Latino community, but are available to everyone.
