Juara Turtle Project

Juara Turtle Project has been operating since 2006, when it was taken over privately from the Malaysian government. Now we do conservation and research work on the Sea Turtles here at Tioman. Our work involves running a hatchery (trying to go in-situ), awareness with visitors, students and residents, and creating a data set for future reference.

Individuals, groups, or schools (anybody really) can get involved here. Staying here is more involving than staying at just a Hostel, but less all-in than an average volunteer program; (we dont schedule your whole day).

Lots to do here. Learning a Malaysian/ Sustainable lifestyle and concepts that can be applied all through your life. Helping with the Sea Turtle conservation, and researching other areas of the island life: snakes, lizards, birds, and the coral reefs. Help us to create a data set for the future and protect what is here now.
