YouthBuild Boston

The mission of YouthBuild Boston Inc. is to improve opportunities for young people of Boston by teaching skills that will equip them to support themselves and help develop personal and neighborhood responsibility. The guiding principle of YouthBuild Boston is: Youth and young adults, when treated as valuable resources and equipped with the academic credentials and vocational skills to succeed, will realize that they can be partners in rebuilding their community.

YouthBuild Boston offers a variety of programs:

Building Trades Exploration Program: for youth 16-24 exploring career pathways in the building trades and needing to complete their High School Equivalency Test (HiSET). They develop an understanding of social justice, participate in service, and are provided opportunities to gain stackable credentials to pursue building trades careers;

Pre-Apprentice Program: A 12-week intensive program for youth 18-24 who have a high school diploma, or equivalent, but need further training and credentials for entry-level employment in the building and construction trades;

The Designery: An afterschool/college readiness program, exposes secondary students to architecture/urban design. 100% graduate from high school.

uBuild Service Learning: Engages youth as volunteers who lead meaningful community rehabilitation projects for local non-profits. Our planned 3,000 hours of service will impact 2,000+ people in need each year. uBuild also provides opportunities for corporate employees to volunteer alongside our youth.
