  • Sobre Nós

We're adding seven part-time, low-bono roles to help us grow in 2024. With some grant money and big goals for 2024, we're looking to support our volunteer team at the California Doughnut Economics Coalition with a handful of paid (very) part-time roles. There are more details about the roles on our website: https://caldec.org/about/jobs/. Contact us with all of your questions!

Based on Oxford economist Kate Raworth's seven principles for thinking like a 21st-century economist for bringing the world’s economies into a safe and just space for humanity through Doughnut (or Donut) Economics, we envision an economy where the people and ecology of California thrive. We want all the residents of California to have adequate shelter, healthy food, quality education, sustainable livelihood, political voice, and other resources needed to meet their fundamental human needs. We also recognize that meeting these needs cannot come at the expense of the natural ecosystems upon which all life depends. In our vision, the health of California’s water, soil, air, and other living beings are also considered and valued. We see an economy filled with joy, purpose, and harmony, as we contribute to a wider global movement of creating a safe and just space for all of humanity within our planetary limits.

CalDEC is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit working to educate the public on regenerative and distributive economic systems and on how policies can be used to support the adoption of these systems.
