United Volunteer is an organization that provides impactful, engaging, and affordable volunteering programs in Sri Lanka. Our mission is to mutually benefit international volunteers and local communities by aligning volunteers' skills with communities' needs.

We offer volunteering placements and internship opportunities across diverse fields including primary education, childcare and caregiving, medical services, dentistry, special needs education, and women's empowerment and education.

Culturally Rooted Experiences

In our quest to offer culturally engaging and authentic living experiences, we organize trips mapping the country's heritage sites. These journeys carefully blend volunteer work with responsible travel around Sri Lanka, allowing participants to serve while discovering the nation's rich cultural tapestry.

Our Track Record

Since 2014, United Volunteer has hosted over 4,500 volunteers and interns, providing them with meaningful international volunteer work and internship opportunities while exposing them to local culture and traditions.

The Local Advantage

An essential component of our organization is that all staff coordinators at respective placements are locals from the area. This local knowledge and expertise facilitates genuine, meaningful volunteering and internship experiences while playing a significant role in achieving our goals.

Our locally owned operations and management lead to significantly lower costs compared to other international volunteering organizations, making impactful service accessible to more people.
