Texas Humane Heroes is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1979, with locations in the Austin and Killeen/Fort Hood areas. Formed by the merger of the Humane Society of Williamson County and the Cen-Tex Humane Society 2nd Chance Adoption Shelter, Texas Humane Heroes is 100% funded by donations, grants, and modest fees for service. Texas Humane Heroes receives no government funding.
Our Vision: A community where every pet has a lifetime home.
Our Mission:To provide innovative programs and services to eliminate pet homelessness and to improve the lives of pets and people throughout Central Texas.
Our Focus: High volume adoption; Low-cost spay/neuter; Pet retention services
